I am interested in aminism, ancient myths of animal and plant life, and the coexistence and spiritual relationship between nature and mankind that stretches back to pre-history. while growing up in a large city in Japan, my interaction with nature occurred under very controlled circumstances. my new life in America has inspired me to connect and open up to my natural surroundings. I am influenced by the organic shapes of fangs, horns, tusks, shells, and the sprouts and roots of plants. it is my intent to have these elements live hermoniously in my work, creating vessels that seem to have grown together over time.

my artistic exploration is highly influenced by my heritage. understanding and fusing both cultures and finding a common ground are what I am interested in. also I often include live beings in order to seek the connection to the nature. these elements provide continuing growth to my work, and this coexistence creates a precious and divine harmony.
